My relationship with Nature has spanned continents, biomes, and
centuries. As a child, I grew up in West Virginia, New Jersey, Ohio, and
England. Whether I was playing hide-n-seek with a giant Rhododendron
bush or war in a hickory woodlot, I have always been facinated by the
hidden within Nature.
I began exploring photography as an art medium in 1977. Over the
years, I have particularly focused on capturing the textures, patterns,
and fractals that are inherent within Nature - wholes within wholes,
whether within a seed, a pollen-covered pistil, a flower, or a
landscape. The simplicity and detail that emerges within the macro or
the micro is both seen and the unseen. The composition of the photograph
is the act of co-creation. You may see more of my work at sustainingart.com.
